Marsden Building Society has donated £1,325 to The Guernsey Institute’s (TGI) recently established charity, EnrichED. The charity was launched in March, its overall purpose ‘to provide financial support to enable post-16 students studying at TGI to have opportunities to engage with education fully’.

The funds received from the Marsden will be used to purchase furniture and equipment for the student training flat located at Delancey Campus. The flat plays a key role in the provision of life and independent living skills for TGI College’s Foundation Learning students many of whom have additional learning needs.

Rob Pheasey, Chief Executive at Marsden Building Society, said:

“The well-being of our communities is extremely important to us and the work that EnrichED is doing to support vulnerable students is invaluable. We’re thrilled to provide funding for this initiative, which will help to equip students with valuable life skills and the confidence to thrive now and in the future.”

Pierre Blampied, a trustee of EnrichED and Managing Director of SPF Private Clients – Marsden’s partner in Guernsey – said:

“SPF has been working as Marsden’s local partner for seven years and I am delighted that the company is supporting a Guernsey community project in this way. We are extremely grateful for this generous donation which will make a real difference to the learning environment for these students.”

Tom Aitken, Head of Department – Foundation Learning TGI added:

“We are so grateful for Marsden’s support. Enhancing the facilities within the training flat will create the best opportunities for our Foundation Learning students to develop the skills they need for their next steps in life when they leave us.”
