Autumn term incentive scheme is launched
Guernsey College of Further Education has launched this term’s Sports & Public Services incentive scheme which is kindly sponsored by Collas Crill.
At a recent presentation event, students heard from sponsors Collas Crill and then took part in a short brain-storming session asking for their input and ideas for the scheme as it enters its second year.
The incentive scheme was set up to encourage high levels of commitment and attendance from students on the sports and public services courses. The scheme has been extremely successful with high levels of engagement from students across all levels of these subject areas.
Rewards centre around team-building and group activities which have included go-karting, golfing and sailing.
Sally Warburton, sport, active leisure & public services programme leader at the college said: “We are really grateful for the support Collas Crill continues to give us. The feedback we have had from students has been extremely positive. Each year we strive to encourage our learners to make the right decisions and the scheme enables us to reward those who have shown outstanding commitment to their studies.”
Nin Ritchie, Senior Associate at Collas Crill who heads up the firm’s CSR committee in Guernsey, said: “It is clear that this scheme is having a highly positive impact on the college students and teaches them important life skills. A key element of our CSR strategy is to support community projects such as this and Collas Crill is delighted to be sponsoring the scheme again this term.”
Katherine Torode, head of facilities management for Collas Crill who also sits on the firm’s CSR committee added:
“There are a number of criteria we consider when selecting local projects to support. This initiative is wholly in line with the health and well-being ethos which underpins our CSR strategy. I wish the students every success in their studies this term and look forward to hearing about their achievements in December.”
Level 3 second year sports student Jessie Staples said: “It does make a difference and the rewards activities mean that you have the chance to meet other students who you don’t study with every day.” Second year public services student Michael Gillott added: “The scheme makes me want to always arrive on time and the activities are really fun.”
