Another fabulous event celebrating the achievements of our full-time students over the past year was recently held at the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts. The event included an inspiring presentation by Liam Doherty of Apollo Guernsey who shared the story of his own journey and challenges he faced.

Students were presented with certificates and/or awards for progression or achievement within their year group. One student was selected as ‘student of the year’ from each of our vocational areas and from this shortlist, an overall TGI College Student of the Year 2025 was selected. 

A huge congratulations to Engineering student JP Lenormand our Student of the Year 2025 – sponsored by SPF Private Clients.

JP was recognised for being mature, responsible, and empathetic, consistently demonstrating hard work and integrity. He was described as a dedicated and dependable leader, who has shown exceptional commitment to his education with a conscientious approach to student representation that has set a new standard.

“Our Annual Celebration of Achievement event is one of the highlights in TGI College’s Calendar. It’s the perfect way to recognise the hard work and tenacity of all our full-time students. At this event we recognise the exceptional efforts of those who have achieved excellent results or who have had to overcome particular individual challenges on their learning journey. I would like to congratulate all of our students, and of course give a particular shout out to all those who won awards and to JP Lenormand for being named TGI College’s Student of the Year 2025.”

Thanks too to Sovereign Guernsey for sponsoring the Sovereign Shield Award – presented to the student who has undertaken community/voluntary work.  This year’s winner was Sammy Vaudin who volunteers extensively with Paws for Support, promoting mental health and wellbeing, and is a trusted presence at college events and outreach activities.
