Graduation 2024
On Monday 21 October The Guernsey Institute (TGI) held its annual graduation and awards event at Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts. A total of 35 students had completed qualifications across a wide range of subjects, most doing so on a part-time basis whilst in full-time employment.
Qualifications included Levels 4 and 5 certificates and diplomas in construction site management, people management, education & training, management and leadership and quality assurance. There were also students who had completed full-time Level 5 Diploma in Art & Design.
The event was sponsored by SPF Private Clients and the key note speech was given by The Bailiff of Guernsey, Sir Richard McMahon who also presented the certificates to graduating students. Sir Richard spoke of the importance of learning and contributing to the community.
Dr Louise Misselke, Principal, TGI College said: “I am extremely proud of the achievements of our students. The challenge of juggling part-time study with commitments at work and in their private life should not be underestimated. These higher education qualifications offer students a real alternative to off-island study. Our programme is constantly under review and will continue to develop to ensure it fulfils the training needs of the local business community.”
Pierre Blampied, Managing Director, SPF Private Clients added: “We were delighted to be able to support this event again this year and to celebrate the amazing achievements of the graduates. Skills development for employees in all sectors and at all levels is absolutely key and having these learning opportunities on the island is so important. Congratulations to everyone.”
